Teaching Innovation

Prof. van der Westhuizen’s innovative approach earned her UKZN’s Teaching and Learning Innovation and Quality Enhancement Grant in 2017. This grant supported her initiatives to enrich entrepreneurship curricula and develop students’ entrepreneurial mindsets. 

She has also been elected the national Chairperson for a Community of Practice in Entrepreneurship Teaching & Learning under the Entrepreneurship Development in Higher Education (EDHE) programme. In this capacity, she works with academics across South Africa to modernize and improve entrepreneurship education, aligning it with best practices and policy imperatives.
